Saturday night I went to see the Ashland Symphony Orchestra play The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi. It was such a fun experience! The music was split into four parts, each one representing a season—spring, summer, fall, and winter. Each section sounded totally different, bringing the feeling of that season to life.
A highlight of the night was the guest violinist, Grace Park. She played the violin with so much skill, making it look easy even though it was super complicated. She brought out the feeling of each season, especially during the “Winter” part. You could almost feel the icy chill just by listening to her play.
The conductor, Michael Repper, was another big highlight. He was both playing the harpsichord and conducting the orchestra. He got so into it that he could hardly stay seated! He was bouncing along with the music, and you could tell he was really enjoying himself. His energy made the performance even more fun to watch.
Each member of the orchestra played their parts in sync, making the music sound rich and full. If you ever get a chance to see the Ashland Symphony Orchestra perform, I think you’d enjoy it! They make classical music feel lively and exciting, and it’s a great way to hear what each season sounds like through music.
